Andronix 2.0

Installer
- New installer,
andronix2.0.0, published atdl.andronix.app. One command installs a distro; no app needed (Install without the app). - Works with Termux from F-Droid, GitHub and Google Play (Android 11 and newer for Play).
- Installs
prootitself, repairs a half-upgraded Termux, and checks the checksum of every download. - New commands:
andronix updateupdates the installer and your distros (Keep it updated).andronix backupbacks up a distro to phone storage (Back up and restore).andronix pack add python|node|java|go|dbadds dev packs; PostgreSQL works under proot (Dev packs).andronix tuneswitches to a lighter performance profile (Make it faster).
- Optional, cookie-free telemetry, with
andronix telemetry offto turn it off.
Free distros
- Nine distros on current versions: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, Debian 13, Kali rolling, Fedora 44, Arch Linux ARM, Manjaro ARM, Alpine 3.24 and Void (Supported distros).
- Desktops: XFCE, LXQt, MATE and KDE Plasma. KDE Plasma is on Ubuntu, Debian and Kali, and needs 4 GB of RAM.
- Firefox is included.
- A normal user account is created at install. You no longer run as root.
- Window managers are retired. Old window-manager installs map to XFCE.
Desktop
- The desktop opens full screen with Termux:X11:
andronix desktop <distro>(Start the desktop). Termux:X11 comes from GitHub (the nightly release, universal-debug APK). - Sound works out of the box: PulseAudio is set up automatically (Sound).
- VNC is still available (Other ways to connect).
Modded OS
- Modded OS 2.0: five editions (Ubuntu 26.04 XFCE, Ubuntu 26.04 KDE with Plasma 6, Debian 13 XFCE, Manjaro XFCE and Kali XFCE), with one Andronix look and updates included.
- Classic editions: the original Modded Ubuntu XFCE, Ubuntu KDE, Debian and Manjaro, with their original look, rebuilt on current systems. Not sold; in the app under "Archived — yours to keep", free for everyone who bought them.
- Fixed: the Modded download outage (June to September 2026).
- Past buyers: purchases are verified with Google Play and kept on our servers, and Classic editions stay free. Owning Classic editions doesn't give a discount on Modded 2.0.

- New dark design and new icon.
- Simpler install flow: the Termux step shows the command.
- A notification with the install result.
- A one-tap "Start the desktop" step with Termux:X11.
- Account deletion in the app.
- Optional, cookie-free analytics (OpenPanel, self-hosted), with an opt-out in Settings. No emails or names.
- Retired: Andronix Commands (export your saved commands from the app). Removed: Andronix Auto.
Website and docs
- New website and docs. The docs follow a step-by-step path (Step 1 to Step 4), and every old docs link redirects to its new page.
Known issues
- On some Android 9 phones with a 4.4 kernel, desktops may show a black screen. The command line works, and the installer warns you. See The installer warns about an old kernel.
