Keep It Updated
Update the andronix command and every installed distro's packages with one command, andronix update.
One command in Termux updates everything:
andronix updateIt does two things:
- Updates
andronixitself to the latest version, after checking its checksum. - Updates the packages in every installed distro, with the same progress display as an install.
- Adds what a newer installer brings to distros installed with an older one. For example, installer 2.0.1 adds the web browser's video codecs to distros installed with 2.0.0.
andronix updateExit the distro and stop its desktop before updating it.
Only some of it
| Command | Updates |
|---|---|
andronix update debian | andronix, then only Debian |
andronix update --self | Only andronix |
andronix update --no-self | Only the distros |
From inside the distro
You can also update a distro with its own package manager, like on any Linux PC:
| Distro | Command |
|---|---|
| Debian, Ubuntu, Kali | sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade |
| Fedora | sudo dnf upgrade |
| Arch, Manjaro | sudo pacman -Syu (on Manjaro, from andronix start manjaro --root, without sudo) |
| Alpine | sudo apk upgrade |
| Void | sudo xbps-install -Su |
andronix update also applies Andronix's fixes for known problems (for example with the desktop session), so run it from time to time even if you usually update inside the distro.
Back Up and Restore
Save a whole Andronix distro to one file on your phone's storage, restore it later or on another phone, with andronix backup and andronix restore.
Make It Faster
Speed up your Andronix desktop with the light profile (andronix tune), a lighter desktop, the right display app, and a few habits.
